Journal #6: Recipe

One whole banana serves 2 people:

  • 1 cooking banana
  • one pack of spring roll shells/wrap
  • one pack of jackfruit
  • 1 tea spoon of white sugar
  • 1 tea spoon of brown sugar
  • fresh strawberries
  • chocolate syrup (preferably hershey's)
Directions:
  1. Boil the cooking banana in a pot at medium heat.
  2. Check to see if the banana has turned brown (this is a sign that the banana is ready) Pic
  3. Peel the banana and cut it in half. Pic
  4. Lay the half on a spring roll wrap.
  5. Sprinkle half a teaspoon of brown sugar and half a teaspoon of white sugar on top of the banana. Pic
  6. Lay one slice of jackfruit onto the top of the banana. Pic
  7. After doing that, fold the right and left side of the wrap to the center. Pic
  8. After folding all sides to the center, roll it up Pic to make it look like this: Pic
  9. Pre-heat the stove to medium heat.
  10. Pour 3 table spoons of oil (preferably canola) into a non-stick pan.
  11. Lay one banana lumpia onto the pan. Pic
  12. Keep checking the lumpia every 3 minutes to see if it has turned golden brown. Pic
  13. When finished frying, lay it on a plate and lay 3-4 strawberries and sprinkle a couple (5-6) peanuts on the plate. (This gives the dish a design & it balances the taste. -lumpia=sweet/strawberries=sour-) Pic
  14. Drizzle some chocolate syrup on top of it. Pic

BON APPETITE! :]
