I see...
- The mirrors surrounding me on three sides, the front, left, and right.
- The loud speakers that are at all four corners.
- The dancers, in their baggy black and gray fleece pants.
- The little kids in their small pink leotards, tights, and ballet shoes.
- The parents watching with smiles on their faces.
- The choreographer helping a student.
- The large disco ball that hung from the top and looked awesome when it's turned on and the lights turned off.
- The sweaty dancers rushing to water fountain outside giving cold, refreshing water.
I hear...
- The loud music making the studio shake... and the people outside complain ;P haha
- The choreographer yelling out the numbers 1 to 8 throughout the entire dance.
- The students grunt as they make a mistake.
- The dancers laugh after the end of the dance, knowing how hard and tricky it is.
- The siblings of the dancers waiting outside the hallway, making all the noise.
- The assistant helper calming the kids in the hallway down.
I feel...
- The wooden floor giving me blisters on my foot.
- The sweat going down my face.
- The body heat surrounding me.
Hi Czarina,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a good choice for your querencia essay. What you'd do when you describe the studio in your essay is show, not tell, about its connection with you and your identity.
We'll start working on the actual essays tomorrow, but they will be similar to the two samples that I shared with the class last week :)
